Job Description | Category Manager:
General Summary::
Reports to Procurement Manager
Manage and maintain inventory replenishment process to support supply and demand in a fast-paced distribution environment. Creation of purchase orders and utilizing a planning and forecasting system to keep warehouse inventory levels at a safe level of up to 6,000 sku’s.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities::

• Replenishment Specialist will work closely with Category Manager by assisting with vendor relations, purchase order placement, inventory management and other procurement needs.

• Work closely with inventory control department to reduce out of stocks and improve fulfillment rates.

• Identifying, sourcing new vendors and identifying ways to reduce purchasing costs.

• Locate and reduce inventory in slow moving categories.

• Work closely with multiple departments which includes receiving, floor stocking and delivery departments.

• Develops strong relationships with vendors and maintains close watch on lead times on open purchase orders.

• Report and maintain a database on out-of-stock items and run fulfillment reports to pinpoint purchasing opportunities in current process.

Experience and Skills::

• Basic purchasing knowledge with a warehouse distribution background a plus

• Proficient knowledge in excel and basic formulas

• Previous roles with at least 1-year inventory, purchasing and or buying experience

• Perishable food product knowledge is a plus but not required

• Ability to work in a team capacity and also as a self-starter

Educational Requirements::

• High School Diploma

Physical Requirements::

• May be standing or sitting for extend period of times

• Occasional light travel

• Some days of prolonged walking

• Extended period of time working in front of computer monitor
